Attendance Message
Showing up for all of your scheduled classes has a huge impact on student success. Attendance is a key factor for students to stay engaged in school and on track to graduate.
It is important that the main office receives the reason for absences in a timely fashion. Ideally, validation should happen before 8 am on the day of the absence to indicate the reason for the absence. Guardians are asked to validate all legitimate absences using one of the following methods:
- Email: eds-attendance@wrdsb.ca
- Phone: Call in 519-669-5414 (and press 1 for attendance)
- Note: Send a note in with your student
If any student must leave the school before the end of the school day they are required to sign out in the main office and will be asked to have this validated as well.
If you have adult status (18 years or older) you are still required to validate your absences or sign out in the main office, but can do so on your own by any of the means previously mentioned.
Moving forward, students should expect to be asked by their teachers to go to the main office to validate an absence from the day prior. If students are unable to validate an absence, school consequences will be issued, which may include withdrawal from extra-curricular activities.
