Attention Graduating Grade 12 students!

The Ministry of Education has launched the Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement.

If you go above and beyond in your volunteer work during high school, you can earn a Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement when you graduate. This new certificate celebrates your dedication to helping others and for completing more than 50 volunteer hours during high school.

Please refer to the Ministry website for details.

Here are the things you need to be aware of in order to receive a certificate for your hours:

  • You need to be submit your hours using the google form on our EDSS guidance website by April 10th
  • We will be ordering certificates based on what is in our system as of April 10th
  • Students who do not meet the April 10th deadline will not be guaranteed a certificate even if they end up completing over 40 hours
  • If you already have hours planned from April-June please make an appointment to see your GC and we complete the google form together to help ensure that you will receive recognition for the hours you have planned
