Trans Fams 2019! For Families with Trans & Gender Diverse Kids & Teens
Time for Parents – To talk, share experiences, resources & questions, support each other, and develop community.
NEW Time for Teens – Our first youth meeting this Sunday will help determine which activities and discussions participants are interested in having throughout the year. The Trans Fams Youth Group may include swimming, movie outings, visits to theme parks (e.g. Wonderland/Bingemans), board games and trans/youth-focused discussions among other activities.
Christopher Rudan (Time for Teens Facilitator) – Christopher is a third-year graduate counselling psychology student studying through Athabasca University in Alberta, and a graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario. Christopher has worked with youth in varying organizational and professional capacities, including tutoring and special needs counseling, and has presented on the needs and vulnerabilities of transgender individuals in today’s society, particularly in their youth.
Time for Kids – The Trans Fams Kids have the option of swimming and playing together inside and outside depending on the weather.
Juliana Rhead (Time for Kids Facilitator) – Juliana is fun and energetic, already popular with our Trans Fams kids. She is currently working on her undergraduate degree in Gender Studies & Psychology. Juliana is also a certified lifeguard.
