Hello parents/guardians of EDSS Lancers!

 

We hope that you are all enjoying the last bit of summer holidays!  There are a few things we wanted to communicate to help alleviate some confusion and concerns regarding timetables and requests for course changes for the 2023-2024 school year..

 

  • Timetables will be distributed on the first day of school. There will be lists of names and homerooms throughout the school on the first day.  Students are asked to find their name and room number for their first period class.  During their first period class they will be given their schedules and shown how to read the timetables.

 

  • We understand that many students are anxious to check out the building before the first day of school.  For students who have not been into the school please review the videos and information we have on our guidance page to help learn a little more about our building. 

 

  • Procedure for course change requests for September 2023:

 

In the event that a student needs to change a course, students will need to pick up a course change form located just outside the guidance office, get a signature from home then return it to the drop box in the guidance office.  Guidance counsellors will reach out to students in priority sequence using the schedule below.  Students will receive a guidance appointment slip in their first period class on the day of their appointment.  Compulsory courses, courses required for graduation or post secondary plans and level changes will be first priority.  Please be advised that elective changes are NOT considered high priority.  Emails or phone calls that were sent over the summer are not sufficient for course change requests – paper copies with signatures must be submitted.

 

Course change requests forms are also available HERE in the event that you want to have it filled out and ready for the first day of school.  This form is also available through our guidance google classroom (code: ve4qxkw) and guidance website.
