EDSS is excited to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year!

 

We are so excited to welcome you back to another exciting school year at Elmira District Secondary School! 

 

Our school has close to 1200 students and a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities.  We are known for our strong academics, school spirit, active arts and athletics programs. 

 

This year we are excited to launch the Lancer Learning Framework which will guide the teaching and learning at Elmira.  Using high expectations and a supportive and equitable environment our amazing staff is excited to work with you and your families to help you achieve your goals. Please look out for a more detailed post of this exciting framework coming soon. 

 

Important First Day Information

The first day of classes on Wednesday, September 4th will be a modified day to provide us the important opportunity to welcome our grade 9 students to EDSS.  The goal of this modified day is to make sure that all grade 9 students feel safe and welcome and to ensure their transition to high school is positive. Grade 9 students are reminded to bring their signed chromebook 1-1 agreement with them on the first day.

We will resume a Regular Day Schedule on Thursday, September 5th.  Please refer to our school website for our regular day schedule. 

Student timetables (grades 9-12) will be emailed to student WRDSB email addresses this week. Homeroom lists will also be posted in the 1st and 2nd floor hallways for the first day of school.
