About Take Our Kids to Work Day

Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTW) has a long history of being a successful opportunity for students to gain real world experience in the workplace. TOKTW also connects families and caregivers and their Grade 9 students in a day full of fun and career exploration. Grade 9 students can spend the day in the workplace of a parent/guardian, relative, friend or colleague job shadowing. If your student does not wish to participate, they may go to school and attend their regular classes.

The WRDSB is supporting TOKTW in partnership with The Students Commission of Canada (SCC). To support educators, families, and employers in executing TOKW programming, SCC will develop resource guides with tools, agendas, and activities for both in-person and virtual experiences, available in English and French. There are also resources available through myBlueprint: TOKTW myBlueprint Resources
