Dear Parents/Caregivers of Elmira District Secondary students entering Grade 9 (and new to WRDSB students);

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!  Every student in Grade 9 (and students new to the WRDSB) will receive a Chromebook for school use. WRDSB requires that all parents/caregivers complete the 1:1 Chromebook Agreement which can most easily be completed by parents/caregivers through their SCHOOL DAY ACCOUNT

While all parents should have a SCHOOL DAY ACCOUNT for all future field trip permission forms, purchases and other program enhancements, parents/caregivers may opt, in this case, to complete this printable paper copy of the 1:1 Chromebook Agreement and have their student bring it to EDSS on the first day/week of school in order to receive their assigned Chromebook.

Chromebooks for Grade 9 students (already pre-registered as of June 30th, 2025)

Chromebooks will be assigned and provided on the first day of school. We also provide the option to pick up Chromebooks early. Many families and students prefer this option as there is a lot going on during the first day of school.

Early pickup by a parent/caregiver or the student themselves is on August 27th, 2025 during the following time slots;

8:30 – 10:00 am
10:15 -11:45 am
12:15 -1:45 pm
2:00 – 2:30 pm

Our In-School Technician, Mr Oldford,  will hand out Chromebooks at the foyer entry doors located at the “U” entrance which is directly off of Arthur Street (addressed as 4 University Ave). Access is not available through other entrances of the school due to construction and maintenance needs. Parking is available in the main lot off of Brubacher Street.

Please bring ID (if available) and a completed, printed copy of the agreement form (or show your School Day electronic acknowledgement) to help speed up the process.

What about new to WRDSB/EDSS Grade 10-11 students?

New to the WRDSB students will receive Chromebooks during the first week of school as resources are available. We will connect with each new student once they initiate their attendance. All new grade 10-12  students must also have a parent/caregiver complete a 1:1 Chromebook Agreement by logging into their SCHOOL DAY ACCOUNT. Alternatively parents/caregivers may complete this printable paper copy of the 1:1 Chromebook Agreement and have their student bring it to EDSS  on the first day/week of school in order to receive their assigned Chromebook. If students already have a WRDSB-assigned Chromebook from another school they do not need to complete a new form.

Note that existing EDSS students with Chromebook issues that occurred over the summer are to complete a STAR form and then bring their device to the attendance office for assessment by our IST, Mr. Oldford.
