Do you have a child starting a post-secondary program in September? Do they want $500?
Each year, OPC Waterloo distributes a large number of student awards (scholarships but OPC wants us to use “awards”) to the dependents of OPC Waterloo Members.  These awards are funded through a Provincial rebate, but also through our own OPC local funds.  This helps us maximize the number of scholarships that we award. This award is for students attending the first-year univeersity, college, apprenticeship etc)
Step 1: Determine if you or your child is eligible. See the attachment OR read from the OPC awards site.  After this step, the rest should be completed by the student
Step 2: Fill out the OPC student award application form (attached below or OPC application on the OPC website)
Step 3: Complete a written statement of no more than 250 words (or a video), demonstrating their lifelong commitment to learning
Step 4: Provide proof of acceptance to a post-secondary program (e.g. college, university, apprenticeship training, etc )
Step 4: Complete the updated google form on or before May 29, 2026, which includes uploading the application, written statement, and proof of acceptance)
During the month of June, the committee reviews all applications and reaches out to all applicants (our intent is that all completed applicants that meet the criteria and  receive $500
