RESOURCES FOR RESEARCH:

How do I do a search in the WRDSB Library Learning Commons? Click here for a “How-to” Guide.

I recommend if you are looking for fiction and general non-fiction books, visit Overdrive. Here is a “How-to” Doc to help you access Overdrive. If you are looking for an ENG4UI Independent study book or an ENG3UI biography to read, this is a great place to browse.

If you are looking to do research for various projects and assignments in ANY SUBJECT AREA, Infobase Ebooks is a wonderful place to find reliable information on a huge variety of topics. Do check it out! Here is a “How-to” Doc to help you access Infobase Ebooks.

Don’t forget the wealth of databases available through the Virtual Library. Here is a “How-to” Doc for accessing databases and encyclopedias for your research in ANY SUBJECT AREA — if you are looking for news/magazine articles, essays, research articles, and/or academic articles. Several encyclopedias are available here as well: The Canadian Encyclopedia (in French and English), and Britannica High.

You may be looking for other types of resources for your projects, like educational videos, films, news clips, podcasts, and more. Check out the following resources available through the Virtual Library as well: (how-to guides are linked)

Learn 360 (feature films and documentaries)

NFB (National Film Board)

CBC Curio (News, Documentaries, podcasts)
