EDSS Semester 2 Final Exams/Evaluations Information
Exam and Evaluation Days: June 19–24, 2026
Professional Development Days: June 25-26, 2026
Information about Final Evaluations at EDSS
- While 70% of a student’s grade is based on work completed during the term, 30% of a student’s grade in every course is based on final evaluations administered at or towards the end of the course (Growing Success, 2010).
- Students may be required to complete one task or project, or they may be required to complete multiple components as part of the final evaluation for a course. Students will be required to complete all components of the final evaluation.
- Final evaluations, including exams, may occur during regular class time or may be scheduled during the four exam and evaluation days at the end of the semester (or a combination of both).
- Regular class attendance and attention to school work are especially important during the months of May and June. Absences from any final evaluation must be validated by a parent or guardian. Students who do not complete final evaluations may have their final grade affected which may result in a failure to earn the credit at the end of the course. Please ensure a parent reaches out to your teacher and VP if you are unable to attend any exam/evaluation days.
Evaluation Days
At the end of each semester, there are four scheduled Evaluation Days. Semester 2 Exam and Evaluation Days are scheduled for the last week of June.
Friday, June 19th: Period A Exams + Evaluations
Monday, June 22nd: Period B Exams + Evaluations
Tuesday, June 23rd: Period C Exams + Evaluations
Wednesday, June 24th: Period D Exams + Evaluations
June 25-26th are PD Days – students are not to attend school

Students will only attend the Evaluation Days if their courses have a scheduled activity (see the chart above such as an exam or final evaluation task) or if a teacher invites them for required extra help or they need to rescue a potential loss of credit.
Study Week – Exam Preparation Period
Starting June 15th, classes will remain in session but there will be a pause on field trips, WCSSAA practices and/or games, school events and activities in order to provide students with an opportunity to focus on completing final evaluations.
Chromebook Return Day
As a reminder we will be collecting school-issued Chromebooks from our Grade 12 (and other non returning students) on Thursday, June 18, in the Cafeteria.
Locker Clean Out Day
On June 15th we ask students to remove all garbage (especially food!) from their lockers. We will make an announcement and have garbage cans in the halls. Students can still use their locker until their last day of attendance this school year but this is the time we are giving them to make sure we don’t get pests or nasty smells from that forgotten bagged lunch that’s been fermenting since February. If students are not returning to the school for 2026-2027 (Grads and those moving elsewhere) they will need to take their combo lock off as well. All other students 9 to 11 and victory lap grade 12s can leave their locks on their locker over the summer as they will keep the same locker! Our custodians thank us greatly for helping keep the school clean and sanitary from pests!
Exam and Evaluation Days
Attendance: Students attend school only for their scheduled final evaluations or when they are invited by their teacher for extra help or credit rescue. Attendance is recorded for all scheduled final evaluations and other learning opportunities, including exams, final evaluations, performance-based tasks and credit rescue opportunities. Please do not plan events which require students to be absent from school on these days. Students who do not complete their final 30% evaluation (in its various forms) miss the opportunity to provide recent evidence to demonstrate improvements and/or confirm their consistent level of performance.
Study Spaces: Students who are at school but not in a class (waiting for the end of the day for transportation or want a place to study) may do so in the Cafeteria (the library will be closed for use by learning services staff and students).
Bussing: Bussing will continue on the regular pickup schedule until the last exam and evaluation day, June 24, 2026.
Report Cards: Report cards will be available for pickup Monday, July 6th – Thursday, July 9th 2026 from 8:00am-3:00PM each day in the Main Office.
